Barbara's TV Commercial
v.com

Dear Friend,
You'll see, below, a link (below the TV icon) to my first televison commercial, which will begin airing this Thursday, June 1, 2006, on CNN, KCBS, KRON, KCAL and FOX news channels in the Bay Area and in Los Angeles. It will also be seen on BET, Lifetime and Oxygen cable channels.

I am proud of this accomplishment: launching a competitive campaign even though I cannot write personal checks of $500,000 for commercials as did Democrat Phil Angelides recently to support his run for Governor. Newspapers confirm that my other Democratic competitor, Steve Westly, has thus far spent $32.5 million of his own fortune to fund television commercials for his gubernatorial candidacy.

I have depended on donations from friends to afford access to the airways. So far, that strategy has served me well.

Today I am asking you to continue to assist me in my campaign to become the first woman Governor of California and the first black woman Governor in the history of the United States.

I need additional campaign contributions to allow me to buy TV commercial spots in other California markets: San Diego, Sacramento and Central California. I need these contributions right away so that I will have the best chance to win the primary election on June 6, 2006.

My request is that you donate whatever amount you can afford now to the Barbara Becnel for Governor 2006 Committee #1283740 so that I can reserve additional airtime before it's all purchased by my competitors. Do let me hear from you ASAP, and no later than Wednesday, May 31.

Best regards,
Barbara Becnel
Candidate for Governor
