All legitimate work is honorable and should provide income at a wage that supports a safe, healthy and dignified life. But California’s minimum wage is so low that it creates thousands of impoverished workers who cannot afford to care for their family or children, for health insurance, car or home. That is a shameful commentary for one of the richest countries in the world. The minimum wage must be increased to a living wage level. |
