It doesn’t make sense and, most importantly, it doesn’t serve Californians for so many of the candidates for political office to be limited to men, primarily, and men who are multimillionaires with children that attend private—not public—schools. Can these men truly understand the concerns of ordinary Californians and, thus, represent the majority of the electorate fairly?

As Governor, I would support campaign finance reform, so that millionaires are not the most likely candidates to run for statewide office because the rules favor them instead of ordinary people.
